Practical tools for a connected economy.
The Digital Enhancement Programme (DEP) is a strategic initiative of the Department of Commerce designed to accelerate the digital transformation of micro, small and medium enterprises. It helps businesses adopt technology that improves operational efficiency, expands market access, increases competitiveness and strengthens participation in the digital economy.

DEP promotes digital commerce through point-of-sale (POS) systems, digital marketing and e-commerce training, electronic payment solutions, logistics enhancement and digital platform integration, creating a more connected, resilient and inclusive environment for MSMEs in local, regional and international markets.

Diana Remy, Dremy’s Candle Shop.
“As one of the first recipients of the MSME Point of Sale (POS) initiative, I can honestly say that it has increased my sales and expanded my clientele. I am very grateful for that.”
- Know your customer
- At markets, buyers focus on essentials and most vendors only took cash, so scented products like hers lost out to “empty promises of future purchases.”
- Create value
- Now she points out that she accepts cards. Customers happily use them with her and keep their cash for vendors without a POS.
- Engage
- No longer limited to markets and pop-ups, she delivers to homes and offices and takes card payments on the spot. “It shows that you are moving with the times in a world that is quickly becoming cashless.”
- Evolve
- “Don’t let the monthly fees and percentage discourage you. Think of your increased sales and growth of your clientele.”
